Monthly Meeting Summary - August 10th, 2026
Thank you to all who attended our Civic Association meeting this evening. In this session we had 10 attendees.
The presentation is attached here. We discussed the new city budget program "Our Voice, Our Choice". This will allow residents to propose ideas on how to spend some of the city's budget for physical infrastructure. Our district needs delegates to review the submissions and propose which ones we will be up for vote. Visit this link for more information https://common.oneproject.org/en/columbus.
We also reviewed the Online Poll Results from July. The votes were in favor of having another yard sale, and in favor of repainting the welcome sign on Wilson Ave. More details on both to come!
Our guest speakers were from Driving Park Library. They taught us about the many services provided by the Columbus Metropolitan Library system. Their presentation is also attached here.
During our open floor, we discussed the following:
AEP's planned substation between Oakwood and Champion on Livingston Ave.
COTA Line 1 is being split into 2 lines with a transfer downtown. The line is being extended and split to allow drivers a break.
There is a backpack drive on Thursday at the St John's Learning Center, in the same room we hold our monthly meetings. Children must be present to claim a backpack.
Bethany Christian Church at 1130 E Livingston Ave is holding a Friends and Family Cookout this Sunday at 1pm. More info will be sent shortly.
As always, thank you for your continued participation and support!
Sincerely,
Julian White
President
