Monthly Meeting Notes - March 9th, 2026

Hi Neighbors,

Thank you to all who attended our recent Civic Association meeting. You can find presentation here. In this session, we discussed the civic association's purpose, our vision for this year, and ideas for improvement. 

The purpose of the Old Oaks Civic Association is to improve the Old Oaks neighborhood through a program of civic betterment, awareness, and education. We believe that in order to do that, there must be a sustainable process to increase and maintain community involvement. We want to keep up the momentum from last year and get more of our neighbors to come to the table to voice their ideas and concerns.There is power in numbers, and the more we come together, the better our neighborhood will be.

To accomplish this, the OOCA will campaign to increase monthly meeting attendance. We will improve our methods of communication to reach as many of our neighbors as possible. And finally, we aim to make these meetings and events fun for everyone!

So be on the lookout for more changes. We are improving the website, adding birthday socials to the end of monthly meetings to celebrate everyone's birthday that month, and creating three new committees that will assist with Neighborhood Maintenance, Historic Resource Committee activity, and Event Planning. Please let us know if you would like to be a part of any of these or if there are other committees you would like to see.
